Why and how I came to fall in love with writing

From a young age, I immersed myself in books. R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps, tales from In a Dark, Dark Room, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark filled my early years, alongside Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends. As I grew, so did my library. I delved into the works of Edgar Allan Poe, William Shakespeare, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, and Ransom Riggs.

Beyond reading, I ventured into writing. Poetry was my starting point, and I filled composition and spiral notebooks quickly throughout the school year. Growing up, I even wrote plays for my parents and, later, for my high school drama class.

Writing has always been a constant; I knew from the start that it was what I wanted to do. To this day, I keep notebooks filled with ideas and drafts. My writing process is unique—often a blend of index cards, notebooks, scraps of paper, phone notes, and then typing it all up. I call it a chaotic but beautiful process.

Having my children has reignited my creativity. Watching their love for reading has driven me to create stories that captivate them even more. Their imagination keeps mine alive and growing in ways I never thought possible, and they remain my biggest inspiration.

Deep down, I always knew this was the path for me. It just took the right steps and the right support to begin my journey truly.
